Municipal benches
Urban furnishing has developed in the last decades. Trash bins are much more available, bicycle facilities are to be found almost in every public area, billboards decorate the streets and the number of recycling centers is increasing, as part of the spreading "green" trend.
Yet, the difference doesn't show only in quantity, but in quality as well. The materials in use are more durable, so weather doesn't affect quality – at summer or winter – and the furniture are also more immune to vandalism. The improvement in quality assure more than the furniture's durability, but how useful they are. For instance, bus stations – who used to be made of stone – are replaced with new, comfortable ones. Pergolas provide protection from the sun, as well as from the rain.
One of the main outdoor furniture is the bench. Same as other urban family members, the bench has gone through many changes. Today it is more comfortable and available. It is hard to imagine a public park without it. It's impossible to describe an avenue without benches decorating it. It's a natural part of the view.
Without a doubt, the bench's presence and importance in the urban view demanded more than quality improvement, but also an upgrade in its design. The variety is enormous and the sight is impressive. Seems like the unique design is what makes the bench fit it so naturally.
